Fly2High Releases Sofia v2 for MSFS

The developer Fly2High has updated their rendition of Sofia International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator, bringing the rendition to v2, improving the overall experience of the scenery and bringing it to the latest developer’s standard. Fly2High announced the release of this update via their Facebook page just a few days ago.

About Sofia Airport

Sofia Airport (LBSF) is an international airport serving the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia. It is the main international airport in Bulgaria and in 2019, over 7 million passengers went through the gates of this major Bulgarian hub.

The airport is also the home base for BH Air, Bulgaria Air, European Air Charter and GullivAir. Ryanair and Wizz Air have their bases here, too.

The airport was opened in 1939 and the airport was mainly connected to Belgrade with Yugoslav airline Aeroput, with Lockheed Electra aeroplanes. During the World War II, the airport served as a military base and operations returned back to normal in 1947.

Currently, the airport is also a house to Lufthansa Technik Sofia, has one 3600 metres long runway, as well as three terminals, VIP and cargo facilities.

The biggest operator is Bulgaria Air, operating flights to Amsterdam, Athens, Agadir, Barcelona, Vienna, Berlin and other European destinations from this airport. However, you can also get to Warsaw, Dublin, Bratislava, Doha and Antalya from this major international hub.

About Fly2High’s Recreation

As described in the feature list shared by the developer, they have recreated the airport accurately, with custom ground textures for runways, aprons and surrounding paths and roads. There are also accurate models, dynamic airport lighting and Fly2High also promises good optimisation.

Speaking of changes done to improve the scenery compared to v1, Fly2High recreated the ground according to the current airport layout, added new buildings in the surrounding area, as well as improved the main terminal and Lufthansa Technik area.

You can get this scenery via the Simmarket store for €14.40. However, there is a sale ongoing, and you can get it as low as €11.52 off for the next six days. If you previously owned Fly2High Sofia, you have the option to upgrade for free.
