FSDG Shares Images of Maldives Scenery for MSFS

Flight Sim Development Group, also known as FSDG, is currently working on recreating Maldives Atolls in the world of Microsoft Flight Simulator. The developer already shared some initial in-simulator previews via their Facebook page, and it seems that the scenery is close to the release.

In some of the initial images shared, FSDG showed one of the newer airports in the world, called Hoarafushi Airport (VRAH), which is a regional airfield located on the atoll of Haa Alif. The first test flight occurred in November 2020.

Furthermore, the developer also shared something from the surrounding area. In the picture, we can see the unique Maldivian architecture, with houses over the shallow sea.

Unfortunately, as of now, the FSDG team hasn’t shown the most important airport of all, which is Male International Airport (VRMM). However, we might find more information about that soon.

A Bit About Maldives

Maldives is a country located in the Indian Ocean, and it is remarked as a famous holiday destination for all people across the world. The whole country consists of nineteen atolls in the ocean. Atoll is a different type of island, created from coral reefs. This also means that the sea in its vicinity is usually very shallow and clear.

Its capital is called Male and the whole country is inhabited by around five hundred thousand people. It covers a total area of around 260 square kilometres of land. However, plane travel is the most common way of travelling around the atolls, as they are quite far away from each other. This means that any flight simulator enthusiast may spend hours flying around the whole country with Twin Otters or the ATRs.
