FSReborn Updates Phenom 300 to 1.40 with Auto Throttle for MSFS

FSReborn releases Phenom 1.40 for MSFS with Auto Throttle, VSD, CWS, new hardware input events and a rebuilt LOD system, available on PC and Xbox.

FSReborn has released version 1.40 of its Phenom 300 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, adding an autothrottle system that users have been waiting for. The developer announced the update on social media, with a message that began “AUTO THROTTLE IS HERE”, and said the new version is available now on the in-sim Marketplace for both PC and Xbox.

The Phenom 300 is based on the Embraer light jet, a type popular with owner-pilots and charter operators. Its cockpit uses a Garmin G3000-style touchscreen avionics suite. The 1.40 update concentrates on that avionics package and on how it connects to the user’s own hardware.

Alongside Auto Throttle, the changelog lists a vertical situation display (VSD) implementation. It also adds Control Wheel Steering (CWS), which the developer says follows the pilot’s operating handbook and the G3000 documentation for the aircraft. The yoke buttons for CWS, the chronometer and autopilot disconnect are now implemented as well. For users with hardware, new input events in the MSFS 2024 interface allow these functions to be bound, along with the cockpit panel knob, the temperature knobs and the knobs on the left and right GTC units.

The developer lists two known CWS limitations. While CWS is held in roll mode, the command bars keep showing the old bank angle until the button is released. In flight level change mode, the cyan speed selector moves as the speed changes, so that the mode can hold the current speed once CWS is released. The Phenom 300 user manual has also been updated, and the developer advises owners to download it again to see how to bind the yokes, GTC units and autothrottle.

The general changes include a rebuild of the entire aircraft LOD system from scratch. FSReborn says this improves performance, LOD transitions and graphics quality at higher LODs. Fixes cover the EFB “Start mission” button, stutters and freezes at low battery, the takeoff headwind limit data (now 30 knots), overlapping text on the Maintenance page, ignition logic, a passenger cabin light trigger and passenger reports. Flickering overhead and smoke sign lights on Xbox and PS5 were also fixed.

According to the developer, PlayStation will receive update 1.30 today, with 1.40 queued behind it.
