FunnerFlight Releases Honolulu V4 for X-Plane

FunnerFlight has released a new major version of the Honolulu International Airport (PHNL) for X-Plane 11 and 12. Branded as V4, the new scenery comes as a separate purchase and not only enhances the airport area, but also Pearl Harbor and its surroundings.

The developer was previously known for airport add-ons across the continental United States, and this time, the focus is on Hawaii.

About Honolulu Intl. Airport

Honolulu International Airport (also known as Daniel K. Inouye Intl. Airport) is the largest airport in Hawaii and covers 1% of the island of Oʻahu. It serves as a transit hub between America, Asia, and Oceania. After the attacks on Pearl Harbor, it was temporarily used by the US Army and continued normal operations afterward. The airport handled more than 20 million people last year. It offers four asphalt and two water runways. It also received a renovation in 2011 with a $1.7 billion budget and it was the first airport that had an off-shore runway (8R/26L).

Add-on Features

The add-on includes terminals, general aviation and cargo facilities, and custom Hawaiian vegetation. It offers high-resolution aerial orthoimagery and more than a hundred animated models, such as aircraft, ships, gliders, and more. It includes the Hickham Freedom Tower and facilities present in Hickham Air Force Base. Both the USS Arizona Memorial and the Battleship Missouri Memorial are present in the add-on, along with Ford Island. Moreover, you can now use the Global Traffic mod with this airport.

If you have previously owned Honolulu v3, you can upgrade it to the new version for a price of €5.00. The Honolulu International Airport v4 is available on simMarket for €19.00. If you would like to explore more add-ons for X-Plane, check our Axonos’ Tokyo Haneda Airport preview article here.
