iFly 737 MAX Lighting and Flaps Shown in Latest Videos

The iFly team is continuing to preview the upcoming Boeing 737 MAX rendition for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This time, the team published two new videos showing the aircraft’s exterior lighting and flap operation.

iFly 737 MAX Exterior Lighting

The first 38-second-long clip shows the exterior lighting. This includes the taxi and landing lights, as well as wing lights, logo lights, beacon and strobe lights. For better effect, iFly showed these lights in humid conditions, during which the lights reflect off the particles in the air. We can thus see the intensity of the lights quite clearly.

The Flap Operation

The next clip is 2 minutes long and shows the flap operation in the iFly 737 MAX. Unfortunately, though, we can’t see very well the animation itself, as the clip is recorded from the aircraft’s interior and the window is rained.

Despite that, from the glimpse of the wing, we can notice a little bit that the animation seems smooth and the time of extension seems to be accurate to the real 737 MAX. Moving further in the video, we can also see spoilers being deployed on the wing.

The showcase then moved to the cockpit. During the transition, the performance seems to be very smooth and the aircraft might be well optimised. In the cockpit, we notice the operation with iFly’s EFB, changing the type of hydraulic system, after which the showcase goes back to the wing view to show the Vickers hydraulic system in action. This reveals that the aircraft has two hydraulic system options, both performing differently, those are Vickers and ABEX. ABEX seems to be set by default.
