Important Prepar3D v6 Pricing and Licence Details Released

The team at Prepar3D took to their webpage to reveal pricing and licence details regarding their upcoming Prepar3D v6 flight-simulation platform.

Licence Details

The developer began by outlining the different versions available for Prepar3D v6 and the differences.

Firstly, unlike older versions, P3D v6 will not feature an ‘Academic’ licence. Instead, the ‘Academic’ licence is replaced by a new ‘Personal’ licence. This licence allows Prepar3D to be used by the general public and K-12 academic institutions for personal training and teaching purposes.

A few minor changes distinguish the older ‘Academic’ licence to this new ‘Personal’ licence. Firstly, ‘Personal’ licence holders will no longer have a watermark on their simulator. Additionally, ‘Personal’ licence holders will be required to “maintain internet connectivity” when using the simulator.

The ‘Professional’ and ‘Professional Plus’ range will remain on P3D v6. The ‘Professional’ licence is offered for businesses as a platform for professional training purposes. This includes universities, museums and even militaries.

The ‘Professional Plus’ licence features additional capabilities that are best suited for advanced training purposes. Most notably, these will include:

  • Complement of weapons and sensors
  • AI behaviours in scenarios
  • Multi-channel capability
  • Access to SimOperator

Pricing Details

It is important to note that the following prices will be implemented for all versions of Prepar3D (including P3D v6).

  • The Personal licence will be priced at $59.95.
  • The Professional licence will be priced at $350.00.
  • The Professional Plus licence will be priced at $2,750.00.
