iniBuilds has announced Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (KMSY) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The announcement was posted on the developer’s forum, where the company says the scenery is “releasing soon” and that development is in its final stages.
KMSY lies in Kenner, Louisiana, west of downtown New Orleans, and is named after the jazz musician Louis Armstrong, who was born in the city. It handles a mix of domestic and international services and serves as the main air gateway to southern Louisiana. The airport opened a new terminal in 2019, and iniBuilds describes the terminal as distinctive and modern. The scenery follows the studio’s recent Doha Hamad International release and update, continuing its run of airport projects for the current Microsoft simulator.

According to iniBuilds, the work has covered more than the passenger terminal. The team says it has paid close attention to the terminal’s architecture, apron environments, ground markings, signage, airport equipment and the many buildings across the airfield. Terminal interiors and exteriors are modelled in detail, and the landside area includes custom vegetation, decals and infrastructure.
The developer lists hand-crafted ground textures with bespoke runway, taxiway and apron materials, dynamic airport lighting, and taxiway signage built to real-world specification. The layout is said to reflect the airport’s current real-world configuration. An official GSX profile is included. It is built with the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 SDK features. iniBuilds also says it has tuned its Level of Detail implementation to balance detail and performance.

The announcement presents KMSY as a base for regional and narrowbody flying, from short domestic sectors to longer flights across the United States and international services. iniBuilds has not announced a price or a release date. More previews are promised as release approaches.
