the iniBuilds team has out of the blue dropped a major Croatian hub – Dubrovnik Čilipi Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The release has been announced via the developer’s social media platforms and Discord.
Dubrovnik Čilipi Airport (LDDU) is especially known for its challenging wind conditions and beautiful surrounding landscape. There is a large hill to the northeast and during the approach of runway 11, you can see the spectacular coastline and the historic city of Dubrovnik. The airport is the country’s third busiest airport, falling behind Zagreb and Split.

Opened in 1936, when it mostly operated as a seaplane station, however, with traffic increase from major cities in the Eastern Block, the need for a proper airport was on the rise, and in the 1960s, this airport opened when it replaced Gruda Airfield.
This airport’s terminal is considered the most modern in the country. It is a large glass-steel construction with seamless curves and a minimalistic interior. Dubrovnik Airport has many different seasonal flights across Europe, and even to the United States, as United Airlines operates a direct flight from Newark to this airport. On the other hand, the airport is mostly used by European carriers like Smartwings, Ryanair, Norwegian, and LOT to move passengers to major and minor European hubs.
iniBuilds Dubrovnik Features
The scenery itself offers hand-made 3D models of the terminal, surrounding buildings and other important airport facilities. All of these are covered in crisp textures, including the runway, the apron, paths and surrounding roads.

During the night, iniBuilds Dubrovnik scenery is covered in accurate dynamic airport lighting. The airport layout is also reflecting the real world, making flights on a network, for example, highly realistic. Those who enjoy ground operations the most will be glad to hear that iniBuilds also created a custom, official GSX profile for this scenery.
If you would like to get the iniBuilds Dubrovnik Airport scenery, you can purchase it via the iniBuilds website for approximately € 17.78. The price may vary, due to sales tax or different conversion rates, as you are going to get charged in British Pounds. For more by iniBuilds, read our coverage of their recent update for the A300.
