London Luton Airport by iniBuilds Released

iniBuilds has launched a new scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator today, adding to their ever-growing collection of products. This new scenery brings London Luton Airport (EGGW) to the simulator. This is the third airport in the London area to be developed by iniBuilds.

About Luton Airport

Luton Airport is located in Luton, England, which is 30 miles north of London. It is the smallest of the five airports serving the UK’s capital. The airport was opened in 1938 as a northern terminal for London. During the Second World War, it was used for military purposes by the Royal Air Force.

It returned to being used for commercial operations afterwards. In the 1960s, the airport was crucial in the development of package holiday businesses. Holiday airlines such as Court Line or Britannia Airways established bases here. The airport is mainly operated by low-cost carriers such as Ryanair and Easyjet offering over 160 destinations in Europe.

iniBuilds Luton Airport Features

iniBuilds shared an overview of their Luton scenery on their forum, claiming it to be one of their most detailed projects to date. The team at iniBuilds put extra effort into creating not only the airport but also the landside areas with custom decals, signage, and vegetation. The scenery features up-to-date airport layouts and signs to accurately reflect real-world locations. With highly detailed objects and buildings throughout the airport and an integrated GSX profile, the result is a seamless experience for flying in and out of Luton Airport.

Other scenery features include:

  • Hand-made ground textures with crisp, bespoke texture sets (Runways, aprons, paths, roads)
  • Accurately modelled and positioned dynamic airport lighting
  • Highly detailed models of all airport buildings, objects and surroundings
  • Level of Detail (LOD) optimisation for every model to encourage the best performance possible
  • Use of the latest MSFS SDK features to allow for the best optimisation and performance possible
  • Full iniManager compatibility to configure your scenery for the best possible performance for your system

iniBuilds has announced on their web store page that the photogrammetry feature of the simulator needs to be turned on for this particular scenery to be compatible. London Luton Airport for MSFS is available for purchase at the iniBuilds web store for £13.99.
