Island Creations continues to expand its Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 add-on lineup with a new scenery rendition of Lanzarote Island.
The add-on provides enhanced scenery for Lanzarote and La Graciosa, with custom ground textures, updated coastlines, additional vegetation, port details, and night lighting. The ground imagery has been manually color-corrected to reduce greenish tones and adjusted to provide more detail across volcanic terrain, rock formations, and coastal areas. The aerial imagery is cloud-free, with the scenery and water masks aligned to better match the coastline and its visible features.
The ports across Lanzarote and La Graciosa have been populated with a range of manually placed vessels, including motorboats, sailboats, yachts, catamarans, ferries, cruise ships, and cargo ships. Playa Blanca includes a Fred Olsen Express ferry with night lighting, while cruise ships feature landable helipads and lighting. Arrecife also includes a container ship, containers, and port cranes. Additional lighting has been added to ports, piers, promenades, hotels, pools, plazas, parks, and sports facilities for nighttime use.
Vegetation has been adjusted according to the surrounding environment and aerial imagery, with native vegetation and palm trees added to urban and coastal areas. Trees that were inconsistent with volcanic terrain or specific coastal locations have been removed. The coastline has also been modified using custom water masks, revealing features such as breakwaters, piers, sandbars, and small islets that were previously partially submerged or incorrectly positioned.
Other scenery changes include the Arrecife Gran Hotel and animated lighthouses on Lanzarote and Alegranza, as well as the removal of warehouses and misplaced buildings in selected hotel areas, fields, pools, and sports facilities.
The add-on is available in Standard, Premium, and Premium Plus versions, offering different texture resolutions and resource requirements. The higher-resolution versions are intended for users looking for increased texture detail, including use in 4K and VR.
