KatiePilot, the Airline Pilot and Software Engineer behind the efbX project, has released a freeware utility that addresses a frequent issue for flight sim users on the VATSIM network by normalising received audio levels.
As per the description provided by Katie on Flightsim.to, the Audio Normaliser for vPilot and xPilot runs alongside your pilot client and automatically adjusts received audio in real time. The tool was created to ensure every transmission plays back at a consistent loudness, regardless of whether a pilot is too quiet or overwhelmingly loud. This loudness setting can be configured to your individual preference.

The application operates as a standalone program and requires minimal configuration. You simply select your input and output device, and the tool automatically manages audio levels to match the chosen target loudness. Adjustments are applied in real time, with negligible latency that can be fine-tuned if required. The app is consistently updated and is currently available for Windows only. More information and the download link are available here on Flightsim.to.
