Laminar Research Further Previews X-Plane 12 Sceneries and Aircraft

Although we still don’t have any details about the expected release date, the new X-Plane 12 is frequently previewed through various social networks of the developers. In this post, we’ll summarize the last few weeks in previews.

Previously, a trailer for the default Airbus A330 was published by Aviationlads and Laminar Research has revealed the hardware requirements of the new simulator. Both articles about those topics were linked above.

About two weeks ago, we received two new previews showcasing one of many default aircraft the simulator will bring. The Super Cub. The previews are showcasing both the aircraft exterior with incredibly detailed textures and wear elements, and the flight deck with all the typical instruments.

Further, the team has earlier today shared a single preview showcasing one of many sceneries to be featured. The famous Theme Building at the Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX) can be seen below in the article. The new atmospheric visuals can be nicely visible on this preview as well together with autogen in the background.

As a little bonus, we got an insight into a new accessory from Laminar Research. This specific one will flight simmers be able to make use of during longer flights. They are two bottles with metallic X-Plane 12 branding combined with a matte background. It’s unknown whether more colour variants will be available.

With a bit of humour, the team has confirmed in the comment section the bottles are aerodynamic and sealable. As a little Easter egg, the Top Gun soundtrack is set as the song playing in the background in the Tesla.
