Microsoft has pushed an important update addressing the Limited Collectors Edition delays for all non-U.S.-based buyers just a couple of days before the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Aerosoft had previously announced that Limited Collector’s Edition shipments would be delayed, but with no information as to customer recourse. Microsoft’s latest update describes how the company will ensure that all customers will still get to access MSFS 2024 when the sim launches on Tuesday.
What is the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Limited Collector’s Edition?
The Limited Collector’s Edition is a bundle that includes not only the flagship version of the new Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 with the Aviator Edition but also physical items to celebrate the release of the new simulator. It is limited to a quantity of 5,000 and orders are to be fulfilled by Aerosoft.

MSFS 2024 Collectors Edition Delays and Challenges
While the Limited Collectors Edition is still on track to ship as planned for customers located in the United States by November 19, unexpected delays have impacted international deliveries. Customers which are located outside of the U.S. will have to wait for their parcels, including the token to unlock the MSFS 2024 Aviator Edition, until the first days of December. To address this, Microsoft has come up with a solution to make sure flight simulation enthusiasts worldwide are able to take off in MSFS 2024 on time at its release date.
Temporary Access Solution for International Customers
To close the gap caused by the shipping delays, Microsoft and Aerosoft are providing a temporary solution:
- Free Game Pass: Customers will receive a token allowing access for one month to the Standard Edition of MSFS 2024 and hundreds of other games through the game pass.
- Aviator Upgrade Token: Additional in-game content will be unlocked based on the customer’s Gamertag. Gamertags must be provided to Aerosoft via this form.
It is recommended to activate the Game Pass token on November 19 to maximize the subscription period until the LCE arrives.
Instructions for When the LCE Arrives
Once the Limited Collector’s Edition arrives, it includes a token for the Aviator Edition. To retain access after the temporary Game Pass expires, customers are advised to redeem this token using the same account utilized during the temporary access phase. By doing so, progress in the simulator will not be lost.
Microsoft has expressed its regret over the delay. For more details and support, visit the published statement by Microsoft or contact Aerosoft directly.
