Aerosoft Delays Non-US MSFS2024 Collector’s Edition Shipments

Yesterday, November 5, Aerosoft sent out an E-mail to purchasers of the EU/Non-US version of MSFS2024’s collector’s edition to inform them that the company will be delaying the shipment of the new sim to those customers. News that were surprising not only to the simmers who spent nearly 280 EUR or more for the product, but even to Microsoft/Asobo themselves.

Aerosoft’s MSFS2024 Shipment Issues

The Collector’s Edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is the most expensive version of the sim. Alongside the Aviator’s Edition of the sim, it also includes various physical goodies that you can read more about here; thus, this version of the sim requires it to be physically shipped to customers. Aerosoft’s email to Non-US buyers of the Collector’s Edition explained that the company wouldn’t be able to start shipments until the first week of December, nearly two weeks after the sim’s initial release date of November 19.

The company’s explanation for this delay was kept brief in the email, simply stating, “Your preorder will be late due to unexpected shipping delays to our warehouse in Germany. Orders placed on our US-Store are not affected.” Some disappointed customers emailed Aerosoft to ask if they could receive their key in advance of the December shipping date, but since the license for the sim will come with the box, it won’t be possible for them to do this.

Microsoft’s Response

Earlier today, the Microsoft Flight Simulator Twitch channel hosted a live stream showing off some of the aircraft coming to the new sim. Jorg Neumann, head of MSFS, addressed the issues on-stream at around the 7:40 mark, saying that they were surprised to learn about the issue and that they will work with Aerosoft to find a solution.

Closing Notes

After Aerosoft’s controversial A330 release, the company’s reputation with flight simmers continues to worsen with these MSFS2024 Collector’s Edition shipment issues. The extent to which Microsoft/Asobo will be able to help remains to be seen. We will make sure to update you on this situation as new information comes out.
