Editions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is releasing November 19th for PC and Xbox, bringing simmers the next generation of flight simulators in the franchise. MSFS 2024 has lots of new aircraft for all types of flying, whether it be bush flying or commercial aviation.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Game Editions

The new simulator offers four different editions, each appealing to different simmers and user bases. The prices for each can be found below, as well as a brief description further down this article.

  • Standard – ยฃ69.99
  • Deluxe – ยฃ99.99
  • Premium Deluxe – ยฃ129.99
  • Aviator – ยฃ199.99

Each simulator edition comes with its own set of aircraft and updated airports. Microsoft stated in a preview event that they had not handcrafted any new airports for MSFS 2024 but had instead improved upon the existing ones from 2020. There is also a collectors edition which is slightly different, offering physical items for pre-ordering this edition.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – Standard

Included in the Standard edition are 70 total aircraft and 150 improved airports. Building on MSFS 2020, the Standard edition includes 30 brand-new aircraft like the A321LR. 40 previous aircraft have also been upgraded with new systems, avionics and more. 150 handcrafted airports have been improved upon, with no additional airports.

The Standard edition is ideal for those new to flight simulators or who don’t have any interest in the additional aircraft available in the other editions. The 30 new aircraft you can expect to find in the Standard edition include:

Along with these 30 new aircraft, you will find improved aircraft from the previous simulator, such as the A310, Citation CJ4, Cessna 152, and more, which you can learn more about in our other 2024 post. A whole range of new aircraft has been added, from airliners to transporters or even military aircraft like the A400M Atlas.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – Deluxe

Coming to the Deluxe edition are 5 new aircraft on top of the existing 30 in the Standard edition, along with 5 more upgraded aircraft from 2020. With the Deluxe edition, you will have access to all 70 aircraft and 150 upgraded airports in the Standard edition. You will also get 5 more upgraded airports from the 2020 simulator.

The Deluxe edition will likely appeal more to those looking to fly these GA-based aircraft, or anyone who wants more to add to their collection. You will find the following aircraft in the Deluxe edition:

  • Amphibian Aerospace G111/HU16
  • Cessna 188 AGTruck – Carenado
  • Cessna 404 Titan – Carenado
  • Cessna 408 SkyCourier
  • Dornier Seastar

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – Premium Deluxe

Premium Deluxe brings 95 total aircraft, 10 new aircraft on top of the 35 included in the Deluxe edition. 5 more aircraft from 2020 have been improved, and 160 total airports have also improved with this edition. Owning the Premium Deluxe edition will give you access to all aircraft and improved airports in the Standard and Deluxe editions.

Premium Deluxe will also have a Jumbo Steelbook edition available to order while stocks last. This will give you MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe and a custom pilot lanyard connected to an ID badge holder.

This edition is suitable for those looking to pay extra for additional aircraft that they may have an interest in while not wanting to pay for the 30 Microsoft aircraft in the Aviator edition. It may also appeal to those who want to fly specific aircraft like the C-17 Globemaster made by Miltech Simulations. The 10 new aircraft include:

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – Aviator

Welcoming a new edition to the simulator is the Aviator Edition, which does not include any new aircraft or any more upgraded aircraft from 2020. However, it does include the 30 MSFS 2020 payware aircraft that have been released with MSFS 2020 Local Legends and Famous Flyer updates. It contains the same amount of upgraded airports as the previous edition.

This edition is really for those who want to get absolutely everything: all aircraft new and improved, and upgraded airports. These are some of the 30 Microsoft aircraft released in 2020, and you can learn more about these aircraft in our other post:
