Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024’s release is approaching fast, and with that, we are here to introduce you to the rich selection of default aircraft this iteration is going to offer. We are going to compare each simulator variant and every aircraft group that is going to be available.
Asobo Studio has recently shared a large image, showing all the aircraft that are going to be available by default in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and compared to the previous Microsoft Flight Simulator, the number of aircraft available has expanded quite marginally.

List of New Aircraft in Standard Edition
The list of Standard Edition aircraft is the largest. To the already available aircraft in the current Standard Edition Microsoft Flight Simulator, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is going to add 31 new aircraft listed below. All the aircraft added in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are marked as “NEW” in the list.
The Standard Edition offers a lot of Airbus family aircraft, and the default A320 NEO v2 is going to be enriched with the A321LR, the A330 series, including the Beluga, as well as the Airbus A400.
On the other hand Boeing aircraft, the 747-8 available in Standard Edition, is going to receive its Freighter variant in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The most notable addition for many is the presence of the Boeing 737 MAX as a default aircraft, which was already showcased in our article. The long-forgotten DHC-6 Twin Otter, a popular aircraft for Caribbean and other island hops, is going to be available as a default aeroplane, too.
Those who enjoy general aviation will be definitely pleased to see planes like the Air Tractor, Cirrus VisionJet SF50 and a number of STOL aircraft, like the Hawk Arrow III and Draco X. Thus, testing your short take-off and landing skills is going to be easily possible in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. There is also the new Pilatus PC-12 NGX and Zivko Edge 540.

Many new helicopters made a grand appearance as well, this includes Robinson RS6, Airbus H125 and the Erickson S-64 Aircrane, with which you will be able to do a lot of missions in the career mode, as previewed in the initial Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 trailer.
Those who enjoy alternative forms of flying will be thrilled to hear that two hot air balloons and a motorised parachute are going to be included in the standard version of the simulator. Remembering the hot air balloon in FSX, I hope that we will be able to cruise with it at 30,000 feet, doing 400 knots, continuing the famous, humorous form of flying. There is also the A-10 Thunderbolt, M-24 Orion gyroplane, or the CL-415.
List of Aircraft in Deluxe Edition
The Deluxe Edition will offer the least unique aircraft of all three. In addition to the old Deluxe Edition aircraft, like the DA40 TDi, DV20, Cessna 172 Skyhawk and Beechcraft G58, there are five new aircraft, that is Dornier Seastar, Cessna 188 AGTruck, Cessna 408 SkyCourier, Cessna 404 Titan and the Albatross G111.
The Cessna 188 AGTruck is also an aircraft which you will be able to use in agricultural aviation, whilst the Dornier Seastar and the Albatross G111 are both amphibian aircraft.

List of Aircraft in Premium Deluxe Edition
The Premium Deluxe edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is going to include all the aircraft from the Standard version and the Deluxe version.
A lot of Boeing aeroplanes are going to be available in this edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, as in addition to the previously released Asobo Boeing 787-10, we are getting the 747-400 in Supertanker and Dreamlifter variants. Furthermore, there is the C-17 Globemaster, and the double-rotor helicopter CH47D Chinook, both by Boeing.
General Aviation enthusiasts will find the presence of Beechcraft C90 GTX King Air and the PC-24, as well as the new Savage Norden STOL very pleasing, and is giving virtual pilots a lot of possibilities in their flying adventures. Speaking of adventurous flying, if you like a bit of adrenaline but still want to feel as safe as in a motorised aircraft, the motorised Pipistrel Taurus M glider is a great option for you.
The Airbus H125 helicopter is accompanied by the Airbus H225 in the Premium Deluxe edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. For those who want to do some turboprop hops, the Saab 340 is going to make a great option for such flights.

What will you get if you purchase Aviator Edition?

The aircraft mentioned above were released either in the Local Legends series, Famous Flyer series or the Expert series. Among those in the Famous Flyer spectrum, there is the Mitsubishi MU-2, which offers unique flying characteristics, as the over-wing spoilers control the aircraft’s roll, and special flight training is required to fly this aircraft. Those who are interested in flying larger jets are going to appreciate the good old Boeing 707 and the magnificent Antonov AN-225.
Currently, the Expert Series currently only offers the ATR lineup. The Local Legends were usually released with World Updates, and these include the Beechcraft Model 18, Dornier Do J Wal or the Short SC.7 Skyvan.
