Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is less than a month away. The tantalizing previews we have seen paint a beautiful picture of the world we’ll be flying over. But most flights start and end at an airport, and Asobo will not be leaving us hanging. While every airport on Earth will at least have an auto-generated counterpart, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will bring up to 160 “upgraded” airports to the simulator, depending on the edition you purchase. In this article, we will detail all of the confirmed airports – each handcrafted by Asobo or one of their community of developer partners – that you can expect in the new simulator.
Table of Contents
MSFS 2024 Confirmed New and Upgraded Airports
All of the upgraded airports from Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) will be included in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS 2024). However, these are not all just the same airports ported forward. Asobo has stated that they will be receiving upgrades to bring them up to a higher standard. So far, two new airports have been confirmed in developer streams for MSFS 2024:
- KGCN โ Grand Canyon National Park (USA)
- LEBB โ Bilbao (Spain)
Additional new airports may be included, but have not yet been confirmed. 155 airports from MSFS 2020 (from the base edition and post-launch updates) will be brought forward into MSFS 2024, spread across multiple editions:

The good news is that, for the past four years, Microsoft has been working with their developer community to add dozens of additional airports via the free World Updates. Thanks to MSFS 2024’s new streaming technology, these airports will also be made readily available, resulting in 150 airports included in the Standard Edition of MSFS 2024! More on those later.
