Miltech Simulations recently took to its Facebook page to announce the release of Suppercarrer Pro for MSFS 2024. They primarily focused on adapting the MSFS 2020 version for MSFS 2024, taking advantage of the new features the latest simulator offers.
About Supercarrier Pro
Supercarrier Pro is an add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator that introduces four modelled and moving aircraft carriers at 14 different locations within the simulator. This add-on features catapults and arrestor cables, making it compatible with all aircraft. Additionally, it includes approach guidance that utilizes the TopGun systems in MSFS 2020 and custom FLOLS (Fresnel Lens Optical Landing System) and LRLS (Landing Reference System) for MSFS 2024.
MSFS 2024 Update
With this new update, Miltech Simulations has improved compatibility with MSFS 2024 and introduced optimized model Level of Details (LODs). The team also addressed various issues with the Supercarrier application, as several key carrier functionalities were affected. Additionally, they included custom FLOLS and LRLS systems since the TopGun versions are not available in MSFS 2024. Furthermore, they enhanced lighting compatibility with the new lighting system in MSFS 2024.
Known Issues
Currently, there is an issue with MSFS 2024 where you cannot set the size of a ship, resulting in it handling like a smaller vessel. This is why the Supercarrier Pro add-on only works in low-wind conditions and experiences excessive movement in high waves. The update is exclusive to MSFS 2024 and does not apply to MSFS 2020. Additionally, there is a persistent issue where you cannot place navigational aids (navaids) on moving objects on the world map. However, by using the toolbar app, you can still view the distance and bearing of any moving ship.
Closing Notes
You can get your copy of Supercarrier Pro at the Miltech Simulations website, Orbx store or the MSFS marketplace (currently 2020 only) for $14.99.
