iniBuilds took to their Discord server earlier today to announce the release of MK Studios’ rendition of New York LaGuardia Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The anticipated scenery from MK Studios had been in the works for a while and had been getting close to release earlier this week.
Key Features
MK Studios’ latest rendition for MSFS features a highly detailed terminal with modeled interiors, up-to-date construction and layout, working Nool VDGS devices, and handcrafted 3D models of airport buildings, terminal jetways, and various other airside facilities. Further features include custom 30cm/pixel satellite imagery covering the airport, elevation data based on high-quality LiDAR scans, including runway and apron profiles, and custom, up-to-date ground polygons with lines, dirt, markings, and other details. Other features include immersive lighting, custom-modeled points of interest around the airport, and compatibility with AI traffic injectors.
About LaGuardia Airport
LaGuardia Airport is a civil airport in East Elmhurst, Queens, New York City, and covers an area of 680 acres. It was established in 1929 and public operations commenced at the facility in 1939. The airport mainly serves domestic services around the USA with a few international routes. It is the third-busiest in the New York metropolitan area behind JFK and Newark Airports. LaGuardia is a hub for both American Airlines and Delta Air Lines, although it is strictly governed by unique regulations including a curfew, a slot system, and a “perimeter rule” prohibiting non-stop flights to and from the airport greater than 1,500 miles.
