MSFS World Update 7: Australia Released

Through a post on the official website, the Microsoft Flight Simulator team has announced the release of World Update 7: Australia. As the title may suggest, this time the teams from Asobo and Orbx have focused on improving scenery throughout Australia.

The update comes with four new hand-crafted airport sceneries, various improvements to over 100 other airports, and 16 new activities ranging from bush trips to landing challenges.

  • YLRE – Longreach
  • YMBT – Mount Beauty Airport
  • YPBO – Paraburdoo
  • YSHL – Shellharbour Airport

Soar over the renowned Great Barrier Reef, visit the vast regions of Western Australia, and marvel at the natural beauty of Mount Wellington. From the dusty red outback to shimmering coastlines and sugar white sand beaches, explore the country’s most spectacular sights.

Users can now furthermore download optional improvements to various cities, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Perth through the in-game Marketplace. The other cities are:

  • Hobart
  • Adelaide
  • Cairns
  • Darwin
  • Townsville
  • Mackay
  • Bunbury

As for the new points of interest, there are 94 new to explore. These include lighthouses, bridges, stadiums, ports along with significant buildings and skyscrapers. The list could not of course miss the world-famous Uluru rock and the Great Barrier reef.

Orbx was selected intentionally for this project as it is based in Melbourne, Australia. Thus has enough materials to deliver high-quality and accurate models of the area.

The update also comes with 500 new missing airports of which are 54 in Australia.

To update, simply launch the simulator and follow the instructions. You will first have to update the launcher before progressing to the simulator as usually. If you want to purchase the simulator, you can do so either through Steam or Microsoft Store for a similar price of €69.99, or about $78.
