MXI Design Releases Istanbul Sabiha Airport for MSFS

MXI Design’s latest scenery, Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (LTFJ), is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.

MXI Design’s latest scenery, Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (LTFJ), is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. Known mostly for their work designing high-quality scenery projects focused in Europe, MXI has built sceneries for both X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Some of their most recent projects included Örebro in Sweden and Karpathos, Greece.

The airport is named after Sabiha Gökçen, the adoptive daughter of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It serves as an operating base for both Pegasus Airlines and AJet. Notably, it served approximately 35 million passengers in 2019, surpassing the original goal of 25 million by 2023.

The scenery reflects the most recent layout of the airport, including a new second runway that was completed in 2023. According to MXI Design’s release announcement, the project features include high-resolution PBR textures and models, an interior model of the terminal featuring 3D people, custom light fixtures, night light animations and more. The scenery also uniquely features snow piling when the simulator’s time is between December and February, in snowy weather. As is the growing standard, the airport also includes full GSX integration as well, with a profile built to include dynamic terminal doors, VDGS and much more.
