Orbx Announces TrueEarth Canary Islands for XP11

Orbx, the well-established scenery developer and publisher, took to their forum recently to announce and preview their next TrueEarth product for X-Plane 11. The subject matter this time is the Canary Islands. Located off the coast of southern Morocco and south of Madeira, those paradisiac islands are a very popular tourist destination for Europeans.

Each island has been faithfully recreated to convey its unique atmosphere. The unique autogen coupled with accurately positioned landmarks, buildings and forest helps recreate the unique charm of each island.

Orbx, true to themselves put a lot of effort into handcrafting this piece of Earth, and the usual features for a TrueEarth product are all here, handmade aerial imagery, PBR texturing, detailed modelling, and a great attention to detail.

There is, however, one very new highlight, Orbx included an airport, La Palma, the main airport in the Canaries. The airport, developed by the Orbx Havant Studio, is exclusive to this TrueEarth edition. The airport is to be considered a payware quality Orbx airport as it has all the features you would expect in an Orbx airport addon. The only major difference is the inclusion into a TrueEarth package.

Very reminiscent of the more well known Madeira Airport, La Palma is situated on the east side of La Palma island, with a north-south runway and multiple NDB approaches. With challenging wind conditions, coastal turbulences, interesting approaches and it’s 2km runway overhanging the ocean, La Palma will for sure be a thrilling airport.

TrueEarth Canary Islands will release on December 26th with a special launch 20% discount on OrbxDirect.
