Aussie developers Orbx took to their Facebook page earlier today to announce the release of their rendition of Gladstone Airport (YGLA) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The product is the latest addition to Orbx’s Australian airport collection by indie developer Rob Byrne.

Gladstone Airport is an airport serving the city of Gladstone, Queensland, Australia. It is located in the suburb of Clinton about 10 kilometers from the town’s center. The airport has four parking stands which boasts a state-of-the-art double-level parking bay design and can hold Q200s to B737s. The airport has scheduled services to the cities of Gold Coast, Melbourne, and Brisbane served by Bonza Aviation, QantasLink, and Virgin Australia. Furthermore, the town of Gladstone is home to two of the world’s largest alumina refineries and an extensive rail infrastructure that supports the deepwater harbor.

Orbx and Rob Byrne’s latest product for MSFS features a highly detailed rendition of Gladstone Airport with ultra-high resolution textures, extensive terraforming with state-of-the-art double-level parking areas, inclined taxiways, and a sloping terminal area. Moreover, the terminal features detailed interiors while animated trains, rail infrastructure, and the nearby Gladstone Power Station have all been modeled. The product also features highly realistic aprons, taxiways, custom runway and taxiway light models, and accurate taxiway signage.
