The developer Parallel 42 has announced the release of an update to their presumably most popular product. ChasePlane, and its reworked camera system, is now available in Sim Update 5 Beta. Thus, this assures full compatibility with the full release of the fifth update for MSFS 2024 in the coming weeks.

This update was crucial for ChasePlane regarding functionality on this upcoming update. Just a moment after ChasePlane for MSFS 2024 was released, Asobo Studio announced a reworked camera API coming to Sim Update 5. Thus, the Parallel 42 team was reworking the whole ChasePlane integration to the simulator during the past month.

Parallel 42 has mentioned in their blog post that ChasePlane is now compatible with the latest beta. However, backwards compatibility with future simulator updates or the patch frequency was not mentioned. A warning about beta compatibility was mentioned, and there is a chance that the add-on might break with those future updates.

End users may expect that the copilot avatar is no longer going to fade out while using ChasePlane. This issue is going to be resolved in future updates, as the issue has already been reported to Asobo Studio. ChasePlane for MSFS 2024 is now going to be available in Career Mode as well.

The new camera API in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will allow Parallel 42 to work on VR support, which is highly anticipated by the VR community. Work on VR support will begin immediately as Sim Update 5 exits its beta stage.

You will be able to update ChasePlane by downloading the new installer through your account page. There are still some limitations to this product, which you may read on the developer’s website.
