Pilot Experience Sim Developers Face Issues with 3rd Party Reseller, Flightsim.com

Flightsim.com is a store like any other out there that sells flight simulator add-ons. The site sells add-ons from many developers like Pilot Experience Sim. Add-ons like FSRealistic or the Embraer 190/195 by VirtualCol can be bought on Flightsim.com. However, Pilot Experience Sim had reported payment issues on September 15th from the site.

Pilot Experience Sim Report Payment Issues

The developers from Pilot Experience Sim reported payment issues early yesterday morning (15/04/24) from Flightsim.com. On a Facebook post they addressed the lack of payments from their Biarritz LFBZ product which had been released on Flightsim.com two years ago. They pointed out that they had never experienced issues like this with their other resellers, such as Simmarket, iniBuilds or Flightsim.to.

Flightsim.com

Pilot Experience Sim received no payment, seller access or proof of sale for their LFBZ product. Two years ago they asked the site for the removal of their product, however they never heard back from the site. Despite reminders by the developers to remove their product, the site never responded, which forced Pilot Experience Sim to take legal action.

Since then, all their licences from this reseller were deactivated, and they stated that no support would be provided on purchases made from this reseller. Pilot Experience Sim have released several products in the past using numerous other resellers, however Flightsim.com have been the only site to have given them issues surrounding payments.

Current Flightsim.com Situation

On the 15th of September at 17:50z time, Pilot Experience Sim updated their post with new information. After two years of issues with this reseller, the developers said that Flightsim.com had removed their product from their shop. However, they were still waiting on the sale report and the money made from the sales over the two years.

Following this update, a second update was given by the developers on their Facebook post. They had reported that the issues were now all resolved and everything was in order. Looking for other similar reported issues, no other developers have reported anything like this. However, these payment issues may not have been made public like Pilot Experience Sim did with their issues via Facebook.

Final Remarks

Resellers for products across flight simulation exist everywhere, from the more reputable sites to the less well known sites. Developers will use several sites to sell their product in order to maximise sales, but some sites may cause more issues than others. It’s not uncommon to see problems faced by developers when reselling products. However, it’s also not common to find these issues with more reputable sellers.

The market for flight simulation is quite large these days, and you can find many sites across the internet reselling add-ons for every simulator out there. Unfortunately, some of these markets cause issues for developers looking to gain sales for their products.
