PMDG 737NG3 Now In Beta

Through the PMDG forums, Rober Randazzo has confirmed that their much-anticipated and multiple times delayed Boeing 737 rendition for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now in the beta testing stage.

release model

The first variant to release is going to be the 737-700. PMDG has decided to take a different approach to the one they took with the Prepar3D market. They will release the addon divided into variants. Thus, you will be able to purchase only the range (-600,-700,-800,-900) you’d like to fly with, with all corresponding airframes.

BEta Stage plans

During the first week of beta testing, the developers will continue to work on further adjustments to the 3D model, textures, and systems. The team will also work on TCAS implementation to ensure possible operations in traffic, whether it is online or offline.

The ground handling equipment will also this week receive additional improvements, and third-party integrations will be checked and verified. This includes, for example, simBrief flight plan integration.

Robert has also stated, that it is now time for the team to focus on issues that originate from their own lack of familiarity and experience with the platform. Performance-wise the developers did not encounter any issues yet. More details on that topic will, nevertheless, come once the aircraft is in the final stages of beta.

A number of folks have asked about performance. This week we expect to be able to give you some pretty solid performance numbers now that many of our beta testers have the airplane in a conformal build.

Robert then further stated:

Last night I tested the beta release by simply loading MSFS without any of the other development tools and I was quite pleased with the performance result. So much so in fact that I thought something must be wrong.
