PMDG has revealed in a post in the developer’s forum that it has begun to prepare its store to handle the undoubtedly massive traffic it will be receiving on the release day of the 777 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
PMDG’s 777 is likely to be the first high-fidelity long-haul airliner to be released for MSFS, and this along with the Boeing 777’s popularity in general make it one of the most highly anticipated aircraft releases of 2024. For this reason, it’s inevitable that PMDG’s website will receive be receiving a large amount of traffic on release day, and the developer has begun to prepare.

In the forum post by Robert Randazzo, he says that the company’s infrastructure partners will be working between May 30th and May 31st on upgrading the servers, which will result in short outages to the license and distribution services during this time.
While this may seem like an indicator that the release is imminent, Randazzo remarked in the forum post that this is not the case, and that PMDG will still be giving a two week notice ahead of the final release date as promised.
