The launch customer for the 737‑600 was Scandinavian Airlines System, which took delivery of the first aircraft and placed the initial launch order in 1995. Other operators have included Air Algérie, Air China (inherited from China Southwest Airlines), Tunisair, Malév Hungarian Airlines, and various charter carriers.
