PMDG has taken to its social media and forum page to showcase its new cabin for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This follows a recent development update from the developer, which we covered here. Although there’s no definitive indication of a release date, the familiar “SoonTM” phrase was used to hint that the native 2024 release of the 737NG variant is on the horizon.

Information on the Release

Mathijs from PMDG shared an image on the forum on Friday, showing the interior of the 737NG from the cockpit door frame’s perspective, which also garnered attention on Facebook. While previous iterations of the 737 lacked the ability to interact with such cabin elements, it’s now clear that this is a priority for PMDG. Other developers in the market have already introduced similar functionality using the MSFS 2024 SDK.

Mathijs went on to outline several key points in the comments beneath the post. He confirmed that this product will come at a cost for existing customers, albeit at a reduced price. In addition, he stated that current testing shows the product performs at the same FPS as the previous version. He also reiterated that all major MSFS 2020 development has now ended.

The Community Reaction

The community appeared to react positively to this glimpse of what’s to come. Forum members praised the attention to detail, with one commenting that they “thought that capture was a real photograph of a real aircraft.” However, the preview didn’t come without some skepticism, with doubts expressed about how soon this release might arrive. Users on Reddit shared concerns about the time taken for PMDG to reach this stage of development.

Despite its simplicity, the cabin preview has generated plenty of discussion and renewed interest in PMDG’s upcoming releases. With anticipation growing around the product’s launch, the community will be watching closely for further updates. For more on PMDG, be sure to check out our latest coverage here on FSNews.
