Pyreegue Shows New Edinburgh Airport Update Previews

Ukrainian developer Pyreegue is currently working on updating his Edinburgh Airport scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator to his current standard. Edinburgh Airport was one of his first sceneries for the platform.

For the past few days, Pyreegue has been teasing us with various 3D render images, as well as in-sim screenshots of the upcoming update for Edinburgh Airport through his Facebook page. First, he showed the buildings in the surrounding area, such as the Diamond House and Garden Inn, only as 3D renders.

Yesterday and today, he has shown the parking garage at the airport. The night-time screenshot shows the immersive detail put into the lighting and texture sets with PBR. Furthermore, he shows the parking lot in-simulator also during the day, and we can see how his textures are working very well with the game engine. This can be especially visible on the glass reflection. The car park sign, showing available slots in the garage, also includes some great lighting work, with realistic bloom and detailed seven-segment displays.

There is no doubt that Pyreegue puts a lot of effort into 3D interior modelling. Whilst the 3D renders of the hotels seem to include parallax rendering, the car park staircase, as well as entry to the airport’s terminal is fully detailed with individual light sources and wonderful textures and we might even expect functional automatic doors with GSX, as we saw in his many sceneries already. However, this feature has not been confirmed yet.

Pyreegue didn’t give the community an estimated time for the release of this upcoming update. However, if you would like to learn more about his work and shorten your wait, you can read our article about his Belfast Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
