ShortFinal Design Releases Freeware Hakodate Airport for X-Plane 11

ShortFinal Design has yesterday taken to their Facebook Page to announce the release of a freeware scenery for X-Plane 11 covering the airport of Hakodate (RJCH). The scenery was announced earlier this year on October 6th.

It is the first scenery by ShortFinal Design that has been made using Substance Painter which made it possible to implement proper PBR textures to the scenery. Not only that, the scenery as well features terminal interiors, custom SAM jetways together with custom mesh for the area, or high definition ground textures with rain effects. As usual, the complete feature list can be found below.

I’ve spent the past few months learning Substance Painter (which is basically the industry standard for creating PBR textures) and this airport has been my testing ground for that.

As mentioned earlier, the scenery has been released as freeware and can be downloaded through the X-Plane.org Forums. The only thing that is necessary in order to download it is an account on the forums.

The airport is mainly operated by direct flights to Tokyo, however, flights to China and Taiwan are also present at the airport.
