Simulación Extrema, a Chilean developer specializing in local and international sceneries, has recently released its rendition of Teniente Vidal Airport (SCCY) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. This scenery could be the perfect starting point for those looking to explore Chile’s Patagonia region.

Teniente Vidal is one of the local airports serving the town of Coyhaique, in Chile’s Aysén region. Its location makes it a great place for General Aviation pilots flying into the town who are looking to avoid the traffic of the larger Balmaceda airport. This area of Chile, located within Patagonia, is rather isolated and features many mountainous tourist spots, making it an ideal place for medevac operations in the sim.

The scenery features custom 3D models for all of the airport’s buildings and hangars, and even interiors for the terminal and control tower. It also features a custom model for the radar atop nearby El Fraile mountain. Custom ground textures cover the airport’s surfaces and part of nearby Mackay Hill.
