SimWorks Studios Announces a New Partnership with Daher and Previews Their Kodiak 900

SimWorks Studios took to their social media to reveal a new picture of their upcoming Kodiak 900 and announced a partnership with a real-world aircraft maker to bring the TBM series to MSFS.

Within their latest update, SimWorks Studios stated that the Kodiak 900 has a completed exterior model and a “near-finished” interior model, with the work on its systems ongoing. The biggest news within SimWorks’ update is the announcement of the TBM series for MSFS. Popular among private operators and aviation fans, the new aircraft series will be developed under a license agreement with Daher, the real-world TBM lineup manufacturer.

Licensing the add-on means the development team will have access to real-world data and information about TBM’s operation, system, and performance, which will lead to a deeper simulation of the aircraft in MSFS.

At this time, the studio plans to develop only three variants of the aircraft, including the TBM850, which is the turboprop’s most popular version, the TBM910, and the TBM960, which is the latest variant. Although the TBM’s main concept hasn’t changed with these variants, important upgrades were made with each new model. These upgrades include the implementation of an autothrottle system and an increase in MTOW.

According to SimWorks Studios, work on the TBM Series will begin in August, with the new add-on inheriting all the codebase of their Kodiak and PC12. By using the Kodiak and PC12 codebase, the developers hope to fast-forward some development steps with the TBM Series. SimWork Studios states that the EFIS40 (the actual navigation display) onboard the TBM850 shares similarities to that used on the PC-12. The team further stated that the default G1000 and G3000 have undergone significant development and now offer a plugin system that enables the creation of a genuine avionics package.

SimWorks Studios did not provide a release date for either the Kodiak 900 or TBM series. If you want to learn more about other SimWorks Studios projects, check out this article.
