TaiModels Releases Beijing Daxing International Airport for MSFS

TaiModels, a developer known for crafting detailed airport sceneries, has released Beijing Daxing International Airport (ZBAD) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS). This airport serves as Beijing’s secondary hub, operating together with the smaller Capital Airport.

Beijing Daxing: A Modern Marvel

Starting operations in 2019, Beijing Daxing International Airport showcases architecture and scale: Its characteristic starfish-shaped terminal has earned it the nickname “Starfish.” As a major hub for China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines, Daxing handled over 16 million passengers in the year 2020, connecting them to destinations worldwide. The airport currently operates with four runways, with plans to expand to eight in the future.

TaiModelsโ€™ Daxing: Features and Highlights

TaiModels has recreated Beijing Daxing International Airport for MSFS, aiming to reflect the airport’s unique architecture and layout as best as possible. The starfish-shaped terminal has been modeled with attention to detail by using custom 3D models that represent its unique structure. PBR textures are used to enhance the looks of materials like glass, metal, and concrete, while dynamic night lighting provides an authentic environment for nighttime flight simulation enthusiasts.

This scenery also includes functional features such as animated jetways, static ground vehicles, and accurately placed gates. The runways, taxiways, and aprons are designed to match the real-world layout, ensuring accuracy for users using charts.

Even though many details were added, the add-on has been optimized for performance, allowing for smooth usability across a range of PC setups (Check out our MSFS PC building guide!).

TaiModelsโ€™ Beijing Daxing Airport add-on is now available for both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 on the simMarket website, priced at 26.41โ‚ฌ. The installation requires approximately 4.5 GB of disk space.
