TFDi has shared a release date for their MD-11 Art update, Extended Simulation Package, and a native Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 version, all coming on January 12th. The update will bring the MD11 to MSFS 2024 with full compatibility after a small delay late last year.

TFDi MD-11 Art Update

TFDi has been hard at work completely overhauling the aircraft’s visuals. The update will bring numerous changes and improvements to the exterior model. Details that have been improved on include readable labels, mechanical components moving accurately, rivets and dirt textures. It will also bring the long-awaited PW engines and a rework of the engine simulation.

This also applies to the cabin, which has been remodelled and textured almost entirely from scratch. Lots of small details have been added and improved around the cabin and cockpit, like rain effects on the windows. In the cockpit, missing items like the manual gear handle and oxygen test buttons will be added and other functionality, such as openable cockpit windows.

Extended Simulation Package

Coming with this update is TFDi’s Extended Simulation Package, which adds more functionality to the MD-11, such as failures and maintenance. The package will bring functionality to the circuit breakers, a custom failures menu and over 160 failure scenarios.

A maintenance inspection and repair process will also be present with routine service options, such as engine oil. Each airframe will have its own maintenance log and history created whenever maintenance interacts with your MD-11. There are also plenty of settings to control how common failures will occur and the type of failures you can experience.

MSFS 2024 Support and Release

This version is not just a port of the 2020 version, but rather a rework to make use of MSFS 2024s native features. The Xbox release will also be coming, but there’s no date on when exactly that will be. You can read more of our previous coverage of the MD-11 and its upcoming updates here.

Releasing on the 12th of January, expect an overhaul of the art of the MD-11, PW Engines, the Extended Simulation Package and a native Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 version. The pricing for the Extended Simulation Package will be $4.99.
