TFDi MD-11’s Expected Release Date
Please mind that the first release is going to be only for the Collector’s Edition customers, who pre-purchased the aircraft, as TFDi previously advertised. However, those who own the plane already are going to have access to it on the 16th of October. Currently, the plane is 73% finished with the release of Collector’s Edition.
Please keep in mind that this is only an expected release date and it might be subject to change over time.
Development Progress
The aeroplane has its first maiden flight behind it already. This means that the team has already flown with the plane gate-to-gate, with all the major systems included, marking a major milestone for the team.
Speaking of the systems, as of the time of writing this article on the 12th of September, the project is in total 73% finished, with FMS being finished at 85%, auto flight at 85% as well, and displays at 95%. Speaking of core systems, those are finished at 80%. Speaking of the sensual experience, the sounds are 25% finished and the artwork is at 85%.
Flight dynamics are still yet to receive major improvements, as that is only 60% finished at the moment. Two days ago, the team also started the development of the EFB, and together with the installer, these are 20% finished at the moment.
You can take a look at TFDi’s MD-11-oriented website, which wonderfully graphically shows the development progress.
