The Workshop #2 – MSFS Update, A380, A32NX

 

Welcome to the second installment of The Workshop – a new series dedicated to the latest news and updates regarding FlyByWire’s work on the A32NX and upcoming A380. The first episode can be read here. The Workshop is written directly by the FlyByWire team within the FSNews and FlyByWire partnership.

MSFS Update

Our team has identified an issue that is related to the autopilot banking behavior and its
inability to follow the flight plan. We made a temporary small improvement which is now available in
the latest development version.

New Features

This week, some new features were merged into the development version of our mod.
Please note, those are not currently available in the stable release.

  • Ground Handling improvements
  • Improved simulation of brake temperature
  • New Engine sounds

Work in progress

We have made progress on multiple aspects of the aircraft. In particular, the flight model
and the fly-by-wire system have seen work from our contributors and are currently
undergoing extensive testing.

This is a preview of our custom fly-by-wire simulation, thanks to AGuther #2951.

A380 Progress

Finally, we share some progress on our A380. Work on the pedestal has been
continued thanks to our modeler RiverX. It can be seen below.

The next episode of The Workshop is scheduled to be published on December 4th
