The developer UK2000 continues on working on their American sceneries, this time, their team has shown their interest to Big Bear City Airport, located in California. The release was announced via the UK2000’s Facebook page and other social media platforms.
About Big Bear Airport
Big Bear City Airport is a public airport located in the San Bernardino Mountains in California. The airport offers a small asphalt runway that is less than 1,800 metres long. The airport is placed in high altitude, at approximately 6,700 feet above the main sea level.
The airport is well-known for its specific procedures. The inbound traffic needs to fly over the ski slopes at 9,500 feet and departing traffic needs to fly at or below 8,500 feet. The high altitude of the airport also adds up to the challenge. Moreover, there is no suitable landing area in the airport’s vicinity, as the surrounding terrain is completely covered by forests or inhabited areas.
The airport does not have any ICAO code, thus, it can only be distinguished by its FAA LID code (L35).
UK2000’s Big Bear Airport Rendition
The scenery offers a detailed rendition of this airport, with fully detailed buildings with realistic ground markings, that are placed on high-resolution ground textures. During the night, the airport is well-lit with dynamic lights. Moreover, the airport and its surroundings are covered by clutter objects, like fencing around the airport, custom trees and static aircraft. All the textures also include PBR, so you can easily distinguish between different materials used at the airport.
