With the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, many people were excited to take flight on the VATSIM network in this new simulator. However, VATSIM itself stated that it was not going to be possible to connect to the network with MSFS 2024 on release. The network released a new blog post announcing a new update for their client. This update enables users to connect to the network via MSFS 2024. More information regarding model matching and connecting in MSFS 2024 was also shared.

This update was a top priority for VATSIM as it allows users to connect to the network and enjoy the services provided on the network in the new simulator. They have tested this update to ensure everything is compatible and seamless with MSFS 2024.
Changes made to the model matching in this simulator were also shared. With how MSFS 2024 works, model matching will be limited to some default aircraft. This means some traffic will show an incorrect model on the network. This can be solved with a third-party model matching like FSLTL. Works with the community to bring more models to the base model matching is on the way. To conclude this post, VATSIM recommends not connecting to the network in the new career mode. In this game mode, the frequencies change automatically and will impact your experience on the network.
