X-Works Announces Upcoming A380 Project for X-Plane 12

X-Works recently announced via their Discord server that development for an A380 add-on for X-Plane 12 is being worked on. X-Works is known for its previous work with their A330neo and A340 freeware add-ons. They now continue their work of bringing more Airbus wide-body aircraft to X-Plane 12. This rendition of the A380 will include custom systems and avionics. A custom cabin and cockpit will also be implemented for the aircraft. However, it was not confirmed if this aircraft will be a payware or a freeware product.

Some Shared Previews of The A380

The team at X-Works started development of the A380 in November last year. Since then, they made outstanding progress on the exterior model of the aircraft. This was to ensure that previews for the aircraft were available to be shared this month as planned. All the progress made by X-Works has been shared in some screenshots posted on their Discord server.

The fuselage of the aircraft and the nosegear are the first models to be fully done. Screenshots for the future cockpit were also shared alongside the main landing gear. However, the cockpit and main landing gear are still in active development according to X-Works. The wings have also been modeled and animated but no previews were shared.

This project is the first time X-Works develops an aircraft from scratch. They hinted that it might take a year or even more to release this product. However, updates and a progress chart for the aircraft will be published on their Discord server as soon as they become available.
