Aerosoft’s Mathijs Kok has taken just a few hours ago to the Aerosoft Forums to officially announce the development of their renditions of the Airbus aircraft range for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Including not only the A318/A319, A320/A321, but the A330 as well.
It was said in the post, that this being the third aircraft project announced for the new simulator, it is expected to be released after the previously announced CRJ 500/700 and Twin Otter renditions.
It is important to keep in mind, that although there are already these aircraft available for older platforms, Aerosoft is rather than just converting them, developing them from scratch to fully use the potential of the new simulator.
However, as well as with the already available add-ons for older platforms, Aerosoft is trying to focus on the job of the captain rather than on the systems.
Mathijs explained: “(..) we rather include a fully working cockpit door system that is used every 30 minutes than a dual generator failure that has happened twice in all the hours (20 million plus) that these aircraft have flown.“
There are currently three developers assigned to the project working on the systems. This number should grow to six in the next few months. The aircraft is still in early stages of the development. A preview has been shared showcasing the aircraft exterior model from the simulator interface.
Mathijs said about the preview: “That’s how it looks at this moment. And that is because we have not yet started on the model/texturing. That will start soon and then things will start to look nice. At this moment it is really the core systems that are worked on. “.
