Aerosoft Shares New Previews of Frankfurt International for MSFS

Aerosoft has shared the latest previews of their next Mega Airport project: Frankfurt am Main (EDDF). We have seen in previous development updates throughout the year many preview pictures of a few of the airport’s buildings and some renders of the terminal. Their latest development update, posted December 7th 2023, showcases the terminal building inside of MSFS for the first time.

The short 28-second video includes various shots of the terminal, both inside and outside, and displays the team’s incredible attention to detail in recreating all parts of this airport with great modeling and texturing all throughout.

“We’re proud to present to you the first few clips from Frankfurt Airport!”

The Real Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt airport is located 12km southwest of central Frankfurt, Germany’s fifth largest city and one of the leading financial centers of the world. It is Germany’s main airport by passenger numbers and the busiest in Europe on freight, handling nearly 70 million passengers in 2018, 2.076 million metric tons of freight in 2015 and, as of 2022, serving 330 destinations in 5 continents, making it the airport with the most direct routes in the world.

Frankfurt is the main hub of Germany’s largest airlines: Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cityline, Lufthansa Cargo, Condor, Aerologic, and others. Historically, it is also the birthplace of the world’s first airline, DELAG, Which was founded in November of 1909 and operated scheduled commercial passenger Zeppelin flights out of Frankfurt from 1910 up until 1935 when they ceased operations.

Release Date?

Apart from the video, the development update didn’t include any other information like a release date or features to be expected, however, given that the centerpiece of the airport, the terminal, appears to be mostly complete and already in the simulator, it’s safe to assume that the release may not be too far off.
