Airfield Canada Updates on X-Plane 12 & Their Sceneries

The team at Airfield Canada has recently taken to their Facebook page to give us an update on the compatibility of their sceneries for X-Plane 12. They said that X-Plane 11 customers will receive free upgrades to X-Plane 12.

Along with this announcement the developers have given us an update on their upcoming sceneries. They said that Deer Lake Airport (CYDF) will release this summer for X-Plane, Microsoft Flight Simulator and Prepar3D. We can expect features such as custom 3D objects (including a full terminal interior), custom animations, and custom terrain.

We can also expect a new high-quality version of Toronto Billy Bishop Airport (CYTZ) to release within two months.

Concerning Fort McMurray Airport (CYMM), the team stated that the work has begun but won’t be a priority until the release of YDF and YTZ. The 3D modelling of the terminal is complete. The scenery will be available for X-Plane, MSFS and P3D.

Airfield Canada has also announced some updates to their existing sceneries. Version 1.3 of Halifax Airport (CYHZ) is nearly complete. We can expect it to release in August. Version 1.3 of Sydney Airport (CYQY) will include custom approach lights, a new helipad in downtown Sydney and more. This update is also expected in August.
