FSimStudios have recently taken to their Facebook page to share the first set of previews showcasing their scenery of Halifax Airport (CYHZ) for Microsoft Flight Simulator in action with some additional information in regards to the development and expected release date.
The scenery is being developed in collaboration with Airfield Canada who already has their rendition of the scenery available for X-Plane 11. It is unknown whether are companies working together from scratch on the scenery or are only converting it to a newer platform.-
Based on the post, the scenery is expected to be released before the end of June 2021, meaning this month.
While nothing specific was confirmed in regards to the expected features of the scenery, based on previous work from FSimStudios and Airfield Canada, and previews shared, we expect the scenery to offer accurate airport layout, custom night lighting, use of PBR textures, or custom static aircraft models.
In the end, the developer has confirmed that the Prepar3D variant of the scenery is expected to be released in July 2021 if things go according to schedule. Both versions of the scenery will be sold separately.
Halifax Stanfield International Airport is located on Canada’s East Coast. It serves the entire province of Nova Scotia, but also New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. From here, you can take flights to many remote destinations in rural Canada, but also to the big Canadian or American cities.
