Atelic has released Luxembourg Airport (ELLX) for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, bringing one of Europe’s most significant cargo hubs to the simulator and aims to bring unprecedented detail. The only Luxembourg scenery fully aligned with the real-world 2025 airport layout, this new release marks another step forward for the emerging developer in delivering high-fidelity European airport experiences.
Founded in 2023, Atelic is a relatively recent addition to the flight simulation scene and specialises in high-fidelity airport sceneries for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The developper’s catalogue so far focuses on European destinations and is committed to detailed, up-to-date recreations. Luxembourg Airport is the developer’s largest project so far, following Madeira Airport (LPMA) and Kos Airport (LGKO), both noted for their accuracy and attention to detail.

Welcome to LUX
Located about 3.25 nautical miles east of Luxembourg City, Luxembourg Airport (IATA: LUX, ICAO: ELLX) is the country’s main airport and features its only paved runway. Runway 06/24, with a length of 4,000 metres, is capable of handling everything from regional aircraft to intercontinental widebodies. The airport welcomed over five million passengers in 2024.

Cargo operations are a defining feature of ELLX. In 2024, the airport processed roughly 905,000 tonnes of freight, ranking it fifth among European cargo airports. Both Luxair, the national flag carrier, and Cargolux, which operates a fleet of Boeing 747 freighters, are headquartered on site.
Features & Highlights
Atelic’s Luxembourg Airport recreates both the landside and airside environments with a high level of detail. The scenery includes a fully modelled terminal interior, a faithful reproduction of the airport’s 4,000-metre runway (06/24) with its real-world slope, custom jetways, authentic signage, and realistic night lighting. The layout and infrastructure reflect the airport’s 2025 configuration and support both passenger and cargo operations as in reality.
Cargo facilities are extensively modelled, with the Cargolux hangars and logistics centres reproduced in detail. The Luxair passenger area is equally comprehensive, accurately capturing the terminal’s scale and the layout of the airline’s European routes. This dual focus ensures that both freight and passenger aspects of the airport are authentically represented.

Other notable features include an animated airport tram with two stations and functioning signals, realistic wear and rubber marks on ground textures, and detailed interiors for the control tower and two general aviation hangars. Custom ground clutter, airport vehicles, and vegetation further enhance the immersion.
The development extends beyond the airport perimeter, with dozens of custom buildings such as hotels, a fuel station, office complexes, and warehouses, offering a realistic Luxembourg setting for arrivals and departures.
The scenery package provides two distinct versions, each specifically optimised for either MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024, ensuring full compatibility and a consistent visual experience across both simulators.

Atelic’s Luxembourg Airport (ELLX) is available now for both MSFS 2020 and 2024, priced at €16.49. A release offer of 15% off is valid for two weeks. The scenery is available on Contrail and multiple other stores including the iniBuilds Store, Orbx, and simMarket. A single purchase grants access to both the MSFS 2020 and native 2024 versions. FSNews will report on any future updates or enhancements to this scenery as they become available.
