Aviotek Frankfurt Showed in Latest Development Update

Aviotek Software took to their website to show an upcoming freeware scenery of Frankfurt International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. With Christmas behind the corner, this means a closure of this development year for the developer. For that reason, they brought us some new information about this scenery.

Frankfurt International Airport is one of the most important European hubs and the largest and busiest airport in Germany. It serves as the main hub for national carrier Lufthansa. The first airfield at the location of the current international hub started operating in 1912, at the time mostly used by airships.

The airport is known for its rich history because it has outlived both World Wars and various political and social events and it exists as long as aviation does. After Amsterdam and London Heathrow, it is the most connected airport in Europe, with connections to the Americas, Asia, Africa and even Australia.

Frankfurt is also considered a large and important cargo hub, with AeroLogic having its base here. Speaking of passenger flights, the Lufthansa Group remains the largest operator in general. Virtual pilots will surely enjoy the fact that you can get anywhere from this airport, creating a very customisable experience for everybody, satisfying any taste of Microsoft Flight Simulator players.

Aviotek goes on to mention that the community was always important to them, and for that reason, the team prepared a special thank you, which turns out to be that the scenery will be released as freeware.

The team also mentioned that there’s some finalizing work being done to this Frankfurt Airport scenery. “We would like to ask you only a favor, to bear with us for another month,” Vitto mentions in the post. This means that the scenery will most likely be released in January 2024.
