The team of BeyondATC announced on 18th February of this year that their highly anticipated Large Language Model (LLM), has now been moved to the Early Access (EA) branch, available for all users. Surprisingly, this update is a free addition and upgrade to the existing software, further enhancing the realism and immersion of air traffic control (ATC) in flight simulators.
This specifically trained LLM, which powers the whole communication system within BeyondATC, has undergone significant improvements to ensure stability and reliability. According to the team, the model has reached a point where it can be enjoyed by all users without frequent issues such as hallucinations (incorrect or nonsensical responses) or erroneous commands. This important achievement was made possible thanks to the extensive feedback and bug reports submitted by the testers during the experimental phase. The team stated that user input was crucial in refining the LLM to its current state.

YouTube Video Showcasing Complex Instructions
In addition to this announcement, BeyondATC shared a YouTube video outlining recent developments and plans for the software. The main part of this video is the showcase of the LLM: Complicated questions, that differate from the usual ATC language groups, were asked and answered correctly by the virtual controller. Also, the LLM can run completely on your hardware, without a connection to the internet. Along with that, the video covers updates on traffic management, a new tutorial module, and the overall roadmap for the program.
Nominated for FlightSim Awards 2025
BeyondATC has also received recognition in the flight simulation community, being nominated for the “Best Tool” category in the upcoming FlightSim Awards, which we reported on last week. The nomination places BeyondATC alongside other famous products and add-ons in the industry. The developers have encouraged users to cast their votes. Voting is quick, takes only 30-60 seconds, and does not require creating an account. The voting page can be accessed here: https://flightsim-awards.com/voting-intro/.
