COWS, also known as Creators Of Worlds, the development team behind the renowned DA-42 series and DA-40 for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2020 and MSFS 2024 have released a large update spanning across the product line and they’ve added a brand new variant to the DA40 Series.
The Diamond DA40 NG
The Diamond DA40 NG ‘Next Generation’ is a sleek four-seat light aircraft with a modern composite design. It is powered by the Austro Engine E4, which is the same model as those fitted in DA42 aircraft. It beats the standard DA40 with much greater climb performance and long-range capabilities as a result of this addition.
The COWS rendition of the DA40-NG brings all of this performance rendered accurately with a hand-tuned flight model, along with optional panel configurations and a level of detail that builds on the previous Diamond Aircraft series from the developer spanning in particular across system depth and 3D modelling. Their rendition also brings per-user aircraft configurations which affect everything from engine performance to aircraft handling in order to create an immersive training experience. These options can be modified to your liking using a provided configuration menu.
The DA42 Series
The COWS DA42 has received several quality-of-life improvements across the board, one notable change was the addition of a fully-custom electric system alongside modifications to the features of the G1000 suite.

The COWS DA40 series is available on the Orbx store. The new DA40-NG variant comes as a free addition to all current DA40 XLS owners. The package is currently listed at €22.68 (excl. VAT)
