FeelThere Releases Salt Lake City Airport for MSFS

FeelThere continues with the development of sceneries for Microsoft Flight Simulator and this time, they have covered the largest airport in Utah, United States. Salt Lake City International Airport is now available for everyone to purchase. FeelThere announced this release via their Facebook page a few days ago.

Salt Lake City Airport is a public military airport located around 6 kilometres away from downtown Salt Lake City. The airport is especially known for its close vicinity to a lot of people, and high ranking of on-time departures and arrivals.

The airport was established in the 1910s and was mostly used for training and aerobatic flights. This changed in the 1920s when air mail services began operating from this airport. Terminal 1 was built in 1960, and in 1968, it obtained the statute of an international airport, when operations to Calgary started.

Currently, a new terminal is under construction, with the first phase already being finished and flights are operating from it. The second phase was finished in 2023 and the third phase is still under construction. The fourth phase should be done in 2027.

Currently, the airport is mostly operated by Delta Air Lines, Delta Connection and Southwest. Salt Lake City Airport is connected to major international hubs in North America, as well as some smaller airports in rural areas. From the airport, you can get to Austin, Burbank, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Boston, and even European airports like Amsterdam, Heathrow or Paris CDG.

The scenery offers detailed buildings with PBR texturing and a 3D terminal interior. The ground polygon is also completely modelled with realistic decals of dirt, taxi lines and surface changes. The jetways are also custom and animated. Speaking of animations, there also is the TRAX Green Line train running in the surrounding area of the airport.
