FSS Makes Surprise Aircraft Announcement at FSExpo 2026

FSS announced the legendary Tupolev Tu-154 for MSFS 2024 while also sharing updates on its E-Jets, Boeing 727 and Tecnam aircraft at FSExpo 2026.

FlightSim Studio (FSS) used its FSExpo 2026 presentation to showcase the next stage of the company’s growth, revealing a brand-new aircraft project while also providing updates on several existing products for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The presentation highlighted how the studio has expanded its development capabilities over the past few years, allowing the team to pursue more ambitious projects and improve the overall quality of its aircraft lineup.

FSS confirmed that the aircraft is currently in active development for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The project is being created in collaboration with systems developer Anatolii Iakmets, whose long-standing experience with the aircraft is helping guide the development process.

According to the team, work is currently focused on aircraft systems, cockpit functionality, flight dynamics, texturing, and testing. The goal is to deliver an authentic recreation of the classic tri-jet while preserving the unique operational characteristics that made the Tu-154 famous among pilots and aviation enthusiasts.

E-Jets Moving Toward Version 1.0

FSS also shared an update on its E-Jets family.

The developer confirmed that Version 1.0 is approaching completion and will introduce a fully custom autopilot system along with additional improvements aimed at delivering a feature-complete experience.

An experimental beta is expected to begin soon, with the final release planned before the end of 2026. Following that milestone, the aircraft family is expected to receive a free Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024-native upgrade.

Tecnam Family Receives Native MSFS 2024 Attention

The Tecnam P2012 continues to serve as a technology platform for FSS as the company adopts more Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 features.

The upcoming P2012 V2 will include improvements to modelling, systems, and audio while helping the team develop technologies that can later be applied to additional Tecnam aircraft, including the P2006.

Boeing 727 Development Continues

Another project discussed during the presentation was the Boeing 727.

FSS confirmed that the aircraft is being rebuilt as a native Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 product. The redevelopment includes updated textures, new features, and an ADV variant intended to further expand the aircraft’s capabilities.

Looking Ahead

While the surprise Tu-154 announcement attracted much of the attention during the presentation, the broader message from FSS was clear: the studio is investing heavily in its future product lineup and preparing several major updates across its portfolio.

With a new Soviet-era tri-jet now in development, ongoing E-Jets improvements, Tecnam upgrades, and continued work on the Boeing 727, FSS appears set for a busy period as development continues throughout 2026 and beyond.
